Caesarean section is major surgery so women should be careful after this operation not to suffer complications. The first few days rest is recommended and then weeks and as low pain or discomfort will cesarean may develop more activities. For many women it is important to know when to resume physical activity after caesarean section. This will depend on each woman but generally from 10 days can be physical exercise as a slow walk.The approximate time to resume the exercises are:
- at 6 weeks you can perform yoga exercises low impact postpartum gymnastics, swimming
- at 8 weeks, you can resume medium impact exercises like going to the gym, go jogging
- at 10 weeks you can make high-impact exercises like zumba, aerobic, spinning, cycling, weight lifting, etc.
These times are generally some women take longer to close the wound and cesarean should wait to return to physical activity.
It is important to start small and increase progressively the intensity of exercise especially in the abdominal area.
When you work your abs will have to start small to not force the wound area of CS.
Women should follow the advice of the doctor and have medical clearance to return to exercise to avoid complications such as freedom from the wound, blood clots will have other problems.
